The Invisible Woman
The Invisible Woman
She toils day and night,
Her face was forever joyous,
And shining exceptionally bright
She wakes up before dawn,
And arranges everything right.
Before the other members arise.
Some of her beloveds, she wakes them up
And some of them,
She greets me with a teacup
Working really fast, compared to the speed of light.
She gets her Children ready,
Before the School bus arrives.
Assists her husband, getting ready for his day,
Serving nutritious breakfast and meal for midday.
Prepares some recipes,
Very Light and healthy
To offer to the elders, as they get ready
Bids them goodbye as they leave for the temple
Gets busy cleaning up, her house and her kitchen.
Hastily prays to God, asking for his blessings
To keep her family away, from any kind of hassles
She sits in front of T.V., to eat her breakfast,
When her eyes suddenly meet the clock
Oh, it's lunchtime,
The elders will be back.
Quickly she enters the kitchen
Without any hesitation.
Serves them desirable food and they go take some rest.
Then enter her Children, drained out from school.
She helps them unwind and serves them good food,
Puts them to sleep, the kitchen calling her,
She fills her tummy before the elders get up.
For she still has, multiple chores to finish
Quickly before the afternoon hours vanish
Oh, the sun is setting, it's time for tea,
Which she quickly readies
And serves with munchies
Get up her Children, she helps them in their studies
She serves them milk and they leave to play.
Enters her husband, exhausted from his work.
She serves him those munchies, while he loosens up.
Then a query arises what's to be prepared for dinner,
Confidently she replies that it's ready to be served.
Fall the night, everybody goes to sleep
Her sleepless body organizes for the next day.
Oh, she had just dozed and dreamt once or twice.
Soon appears the dawn, she gets upright
Geared up again for the coming day.
She works every day, without a holiday.
When she goes out shopping, once in a while
People compliment you, you dress up so bright.
And have a charming smile.
But No one perhaps
Has those knowledgeable eyes,
To look beyond her robe,
And address her tired soul.
It seems to her as if,
The world has gone half-blind.
Or is it her body,
That has become invisible.
How can her pains
And her tired body,
Can be just neglected.
By anyone who wants to notice.
But that is her truth, she happily lives with it and seems always joyous,
Showing the beautiful cloak, that wraps her invisible body.
To the negligent world, glancing blindly at it.
