The Colour Fest

One the day of the festival of colours kids wake early to prepare for the day

They wake jubilant and ready to go out and play

They shower swiftly and gorge briskly to run out and have some fun

They go to find their friends and start the day

Kids throw and pour with whatever is in sight

Let it be tomatoes or a bucket of freezing water you have to be on the lookout as it might be coming your way

There is excitement and energy in the air while kids throw colour and others pour water

Some seeking vengeance and in search of their friends to cover them with colour and enjoy the day

There are games to play and lots of fun throughout the day

Adults are drinking bhang and dancing with booming music in the background

Kids are in a festive mood with balloons and water guns that release water at rapid speeds

Everyone is dancing to the sound of music and going with the beat

The demeanour is high and everyone filled with pleasure

After a few long hours it time for lunch

Everyone mingles with each other and eats with pleasure

Everyone enjoying themselves with a smile on everyone's faces

All is good but now its time to end

Its time to pack up and go back home

Even though many want to stay the day is over and all have to go home

Everyone single person child or parent alike return home covered head to toe with colour

They sprawl on a couch after a day of running and throwing

Replaying the exciting moments of the day.
