Tame
Tame
All her life
She looked for words
To let it out.
She looked for words
To scream and shout.
She found the words
But was helpless still,
For every word
From those rosy lips
Meant a horrendous bruise
On a frame so fragile.
This nasty world,
It stole her laughter,
But this nasty world
Was also at loss;
Her angelic voice
Was now seldom heard.
This nasty world
Left her body black and blue.
This silly, nasty world
Could not taint her spirit
For her brave soul
It won’t give up.
She gave her music
To the pen and paper.
Oh how beautiful it was
To hear her sing.
Through those written words
She sang in silence
And danced to her words.
Those rosy lips, that pale face
And that fragile frame,
No matter how hard
This nasty world tried;
They could not be tamed.
