SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
SWAMI VIVEKANANDA
SWAMI VIVEKANAND & ROYAL DANCER
There was a Conference in Chicago
Swami Vivekanand was thoughtful ;
Why would he go there
What was the charm there(1)
All told that only Swamiji must go
He would tell about Vedanta and Religion
He may be travelling through out the country
His mental stress was increased (2)
He dreamt at Madras that
Shri Ramkrisna Dev was telling him while walking on the Sea " Go " & he disappeared (3)
At that time Khetri Maharaja Ajit Sing, a disciple of Swamiji,Rajasthan Khetri, came on
Swamiji was interested to go (4)
He became the guest of Maharaj
He welcomed Swamiji
As Khetri Maharaja was
having a new born baby son
So he was pleased (5)
He requested Swamiji to bless the new born baby a little,
Naina, the Royal Dancer, would dance for the reception of Swamiji too .(6)
He refused the dancing & came back to his resting place,
He thought to himself that he was a monk
What is the necessity for enjoying dance and song ( 7 )
Maina's song rang in his ears
In deed that voice was melancholic,
Maina was singing a Bhajan of Ramdas with her melodious tone (8)
Please don't look at my flaws my Lord , I am full of bad qualities
You are unbiased O my Lord
You are the one who makes all the sorrows disappear (9)
That may be either a knife of a temple or of a slaughter-house, both turn into gold with the touch of a touchstone,
without any discrimination (10)
Be it a polluted water of a drain or the pure stream water of the river, once they merge into the holy Ganges, they both become equally sacred (11)
O Lord please forgive me for my sins
I am taking shelter in your lotus feet
Please grant me freedom from my sins
Maina Bai was singing in tears
her heart was filled with grief (12)
Immediately Swamiji opened the door
and reached Maina Bai's side
" Forgive me O " my mother
You taught me a lesson
I remained in blind faith as yet (13)
The Supreme Divine resides in everybody
Vedanta is the infallible truth,
I had forgotten, you reminded me
Therefore, accept my salutation, O' my Mother.(14 )
For an ascetic every thing is the same, whether it is a goddess or a dancer,
No one is superior, no one is inferior,
This truth now I have seen.( 15 )."
