Success Visits The School
Success Visits The School
The broken half mended school compound
Brings me the luscious memories of childhood
Visuals of me leaping over it
Glitter and shimmer before my eyes as colossal water droplets
The carves on walls, streaks and engravements on the benches
Stand still and freeze the time for me to look around
Fading away themselves,
The drawings on the doors recollect the receding memories
Compassionate teachers, the old watchman
All seem to remember me and my antics
But as a reward to their affection,
I present them with the fact that I barely remember their names
Even the flowers and the birds in the garden know my face
But I forget them and get lost in my current life
Draped with ego, my present success survives
But mitigates the innocence of the schooldays -hidden within
Those days of enjoyable freedom that once shaped my life
Are forgotten once the life is shaped
But one visit to school is enough
To diminish the ego of success,
To fill the warmth of childhood inside.
