Song of a soldier

As you sleep today tight

Just remember one is guarding your night

When you embrace the sun the next day

Just think about our eventuality

When you pamper your son

I will be holding guns

When you are engaged in fun & frolic with your friends

I, along with my platoon, will be protecting our lands 

When you are enjoying the warmth of your near-dear ones

I am just thinking about parents in prayers

Tomorrow as you all unfurl the Tricolour on Republic Day
