Society Never Understood Love

Rama wasn’t spared,

Sita had to bear,

 Love had to suffer

In the hands of cowards

Those, who never comprehended the value of love

And for whom, social stigma mattered. 

Socially, they call themselves social,

Anti-social, the lovers.

Was it just to part the epitome of lovers;

Radha-Krushn, presently worshipped in temples, in houses across the world

Were never worshipped by the society they lived-in as lovers.

True love now, in very few remaining lovers,

Is neither comprehended nor worshipped, in any form either,

Social hierarchies, caste divide, religion, skin color, bank balance

Are all what dominates, what matters!
