Sir Abraham
Sir Abraham
You once told us, I remember,
you play the game but not so well,
however, you chose to be there
for us, your presence we did feel.
You mentored us in your own way,
there were no defensive technique
neither offensive strategy,
that you had shared during the breaks,
but some words of wisdom you spoke,
we learned a lot with your few words,
sometimes with sandwiches and Coke,
as you let us consume your food.
We got the bronze thrice in a row,
the medal with the least value,
yet better than nothing, I know,
Much better than not knowing you.
Some years later, I had given
the chance to handle a chess team
and I remember your way, then,
it made winning more than just dream.
My team made to the next level,
with some of your words I had shared,
with my presence I let them feel,
more than just a coach, a father.
