Salaam Soldiers
Salaam Soldiers
The tightened muscles
Under the tanned skin
Cold as a stone,
The warm heart
Curled up
Hidden somewhere
In a shell of Steel.
Boots on feet
Buckles locked,
Hammer of fists
Holding revolver and AK47.
Minds racing faster than pace,
Eyes penetrating thin air,
Each spec of the distant.
Each day is a war
Each second a battle,
Defeating death
Survival a reward
A long-term war
That dwell on each step.
The shadow behind every friend
The voice of every bird,
The sound of each dead leaf
That rattles muffled,
The smell in the air
The blemish on the sky ,
Everything matters
The cost of a life.
Dear brothers!
Sleep without fear
We are awake,
Let peace embrace your heart
For we defend the home,
Celebrate the day
For we are fighting!
Each drop shed
Is liberating you,
The moment
My soul turns orphan,
My chest swells
With pride,
Let my last breath
Hug the air of freedom
Dream come real.
Jai Hind!
