In an era draped in shadows of the past,

A spectacle emerged, a cruelty amassed.

Cock fights, they called it, a twisted affair,

Where lives were gambled with a heartless glare.

Under the British rule, this morbid scene,

Brought pleasure to those who revelled in mean.

Educated or not, their hearts turned cold,

As poor cocks clashed, their fate foretold.

What madness drove them to this heartless game,

Where blood was spilled, a dance of shame?

A twisted form of entertainment they sought,

While lives were lost, their morals forgot.

Cocks, once proud creatures, pitted against their kin,

For the amusement of those steeped in sin.

They suffered and bled, with no voice to speak,

As humanity stooped low, its conscience weak.

Yet, even in modern times, the echoes remain,

Of uncanny sports where animals feel the strain.

A sad reminder of humanity's darkest plight,

Let us awaken to the plight of these souls,
