My Golden Age

My Golden Age

It was my golden age as a little schoolboy;

Uniformed grey and white, in the simplest profile.

Innocence came gushing with laughter and joy,

While we used to compere on stage with so much style.

Talents emerged from my inborn soul,

 Because of the genuine struggles my school partook.

Though Accolades followed, some blinding my goal;

I penned “Soulful Treasure”, My Maiden Poetry Book

My moment was made, in one of the best of days;

When I was chosen, “The SPL” in my secondary grade.

No Wonder, Time went flying in its ecstatic pace;

My school became my blood, that’s never dreamt to fade.

My dear friends cast a pure spell of love,

Lending kind shoulders to make me glad.

They were adorned with compassion and every know how;

As only times can change and not the bond we shared.

Dear Teachers, you never did care for your very own lives;

Though long sleepless nights did make you weak,

Because of your heartfelt lessons; my present day thrives,

No doubt, merely your selfless affection is all I seek.

My heart wandered as to where it could belong,

like waves do crawl leaving the shore behind.

I knew as I left school, I need to stay strong;

Wishing one day, a magic button could restore my mind.

At last, I’m chiseled to goodness by perfect bliss;

That I may face the depths, of any war and strife.

However far I ponder to go, my footsteps are a promise,

Grateful To my school in every sphere of life.
