Mother

Mother

With what did I deserve your love

Your every tear

That you shed for me

And every sigh

Torn from your bosom

With what did I deserve

Your meek and kind eyes

Radiating only warmth

Every one of your embraces

Soft and warm

Full of countless roses

Your wide smile

From which sweet honey drips

With what did I deserve

Your kisses

Like white feathers

On my cheeks

Every sleepless night

When you would watch over me

Through rough and painful times.

With what  did I deserve

Your love, Mother

Your every trepidation

Your every prayer

To God

But I was always

A miserable and poorly

Not once did I tell you

How much I love you

I often hurt you

And brought you pain

Now that I don’t have you

I would give this whole world

To just once more

To have your hand caress me
