Moon And I
Moon And I
The other day when I went back to the Moon
To have a conversation about the solitude that we shared,
The moon told me – of the love it had for me
Overwhelmed, the same did I declare!
In a trifle of a moment, we sensed the universe
Twisting head with surprised widened eyes -
“How did it happen? Tell us the stories of your love!”
It asked us a thousand hundred questions of hows and whys!
They were easy questions!
For, the moon and me, we had so much in common to share;
On its crescent days, I sent it my words of better days
And On my sad days, it sparkled a little brighter and vanished my despair!
On days when I told the moon
I felt like a mere cloud, who could only rain sorrows,
It told me of how I could take over the mighty sun
And dream of wonderful tomorrows.
And on days when moon told me
How the craters on it made it empty and hollowed,
I held the ocean before it and showed to it, its beautiful reflection
Along with the million stars and galaxies that followed.
On days when I told the moon
How I only felt like a futile blank paper with no worth of its own,
It told me how it admired me for being someone
Who could even express emotions which difficult and rarely shown.
The universe was in ecstasy
When it discovered the answers to its doubts and apprehensions,
The moon and I smiled after we heard it sing
A lullaby of love enchanting every being who crossed its directions!
