Monsoon

Monsoon

On my window, the water slowly drips down,

Each drop, just like a jewel adjourning a crown.

The winds blow, cold and strong,

A perfect time to listen to a song.

And freshly wet soil releasing its wonderful smell,

There are aromas of hot fritters as well.

When there is such pleasant weather,

Books and rains indeed go well together.

I grab my blanket along with it

and I enjoy this more than I admit.

Though the best of all is,

Hot chocolate in a mug,

And plenty of warm hugs.

Little creatures crawl out of their home,

To enjoy the rains and roam,

Snake, mouse, frog, and toad,

All enjoy this earthly abode.

Yes, the rains, I have celebrated,

Because that is what makes me truly elated.
