I do talk to you

But not with words.

With the air between us,

That fills you and me

And reflects all the absurd.

 

You begin conversations

Not with a rehearsed ‘hey’

But some lame joke.

What a strange mixture

Of sassed sarcasm, messed up phraseology

And no overthinking mind to choke.

 

I sit here

Two seats right from you,

Loading emotions like alum.

From all the unspoken wonders,

Uranium(U) and Iodine(I)

Would be a great sum.
