Me, Myself And I
Me, Myself And I
The sun was sinking lower and lower
Turning the sky into a sheet of burnishing hue
Sunset is my favourite time of the day;
Even better than when the sky is blindingly blue.
Absentmindedly turning the pages of my book
As I gazed at the sunset beyond the horizon
Which reflected my room; every corner and nook,
I sighed;
A contented sigh;
As I gazed at the burnish skyline which stood frozen.
"Will it be like this always?" I wondered
Or will this peace be tarnished by chaos?
Chaos, which are created by us and our blunders
Blunders I wish we could forbid in any way, oh!
"Solitude" is an extraordinary word
A word that fills our head with ideas
Ideas that we love to turn into reality
Until reality forces us all to beware.
The noise of vehicles cooped up in traffic
Contrasted with the sound of the crashing sea
Sounds like music to my ears; neither rhythmic nor tragic
I wonder if everyone gets these ideas, or maybe it's just me.
Solitude is something I crave for,
Every single day.
Some alone time which I cherish, though
Not everyone feels that way.
Some time for myself is what my subconscious ordered
To see the world with my mind's eye
"Does everybody enjoy it as I do?" I always wondered;
Coz I love it when I'm with me, myself and I
