Love Letter To Orange
Love Letter To Orange
Dear Orange,
How can I thank you for being the most beautiful part of winters,
You're magic, you're divine
It's because of you that I learnt to walk
For I used to get you, as my reward
It's because of you that I got closer to my family
Because out in the sun, there were me, they and you
How I cherish the memory of mixing different spices with my cousins
To get the ideal mix
And how I used to panic when I swallowed your seeds.
The incident of sneaking out in the orchard
And picking the best of you
Only to be chased by the owner
Is still as afresh as you
From the journey of eating only your flesh
To telling others that the fibres do wonders to the human body,
From seeing Mom prepare your juice
To diluting it with vodka in a party
It has been a great journey.
Peeling you off discharged some fluids
Which were apparently good for my eyes
Lest they knew you were one of the blessings of my whole life,
For my whole life.
