Longing For Home
Longing For Home
My spaceship strode towards the sphere
Excitement trickled down my spine
The planet was an alloy of blue and green
What if we failed to pass through, was my fear
Then I dived in, with the jumble of fear and joy
Smog rushed through my nostrils, I was choked!
High rise buildings, and no green!
Black everywhere, smoke so much, oh boy!
Trees were countable, bushes very few
Rivers were dry, cities were drowned!
Water so scarce, even fishes scuffled to live!
Oh! How I wish I lived on my planet, with my crew
Once I landed, I longed for home
Once I thought this planet was the gift of god
Oh yes, it was! But overexploited indeed
Our planet is a far far better maintained dome...
