I Wish
I Wish

Did she know
her friends were fake?
Would she have known
that life could steal?
Could she know
the pit was deep?
Never had I known
How did she feel?
Everyone was shady
Everything was messy
Ones who made her happy
Now left her lonely.
Her provoking will had weakened
Those sparkling eyes had swollen
The beautiful face was ashen
Her wonderful smile was broken.
Sitting by the window
She looked at the sky
She asked me a question
"Hey, do
stars ever die?"
Could a young girl of seventeen
Know about the world being mean?
Without overthinking
I dodged the unseen.
The following morning,
I opened her room's door
Had it all turned, suddenly cold?
Was it just me or was it the floor?
Colour drained out of her body
Her rhythm had ceased
The sore eyes fixated at the roof
Her soul found its peace.
Remembering her memories
I began to lumber
Praying for the night
To be just another horror.
