I Looked Back

They say look ahead

And ahead I looked

But what was I looking for?

The answers lay in my past

I needed to turn back

But I could not

They guarded my step

Watched my move

I left motionless

Like a dead clock

And then

I looked back

Only to find a changed time

The past had withered away

The answers had gone

A new beginning for me

But what must I do…..
