Hunger

A pain that gnaws at the insides,

An emptiness that fills all void,

An ennui that drives you to the edge,

Do not judge me for I am haunted by a monster,

 

You can be human; you have the choice,

I don't, my animality runs through,

To tame the darkness within me,

Hunger, Sir...is stronger than all emotion,

It gorges on the pride,

It nibbles the Self,

It guzzles on the conscience,

So that nothing, but hunger remains.

 

I am driven by I t,

Driven from your world,

Of civilities, Of vanities,

Shame left me long ago,

The only thing I feel is 

The twisting of my innards.

 

So do not call me a monster,

Free me from the one that devours me,

And I could be human like you.
