Happiness...

Someone had asked, "What is happiness for you?"

I could not answer at once,

I sat down and thought for that one thing that defined happiness for me,

And I felt uneasy when I could not find what is my happiness.

If people ask me, "Are you happy?"

I don't lose a second to answer, "Yes"

Yes, indeed I am happy,

But the answer to what makes me happy puts me in silent confusion.

I thought about my entire day,

I thought about what I do, that fills my soul with the nectar of happiness,

I thought about that beautiful movie I saw the other day, that made me happy.

I thought about that beautifully written book that I read, that made me happy.

I thought about that lovely Instagram page that I discovered, whose aesthetic posts, made me happy.

There are so many things that make me happy.

The other day, when I took the first spoonful of my favorite sweet dish,

I felt as if I was flying in the sky of sweetness and happiness.

One afternoon, when my mother slept beside me and cuddled me tightly,

My heart was filled with happiness.

That night, when me and my sister, laughed loudly at a funny thing,

I could feel the beautiful weight of happiness on me.

One evening, I discovered some soulful music,

Which filled my soul and heart with ecstasy and happiness.

And right now, writing about what makes me happy,

Is also giving me a lot of happiness.

So many things to include in the list of the things that make me happy,

When the sky's canvas is filled with beautiful colours,

When the first rains touch your skin after months of scorching heat,

When the evening breeze soothes your tired soul,

When you realise how you have moved on from your past and you are improving and growing,

And the list goes on...

That is when I realized, that happiness is not just one thing,

Happiness can be found anywhere at any time,

From the smallest of the things to the shortest of the feelings,

From a stranger who smiled at you to a loved one who made you feel special,

There are so many things in a day that can make you happy,

And thus, I got the answer to makes me happy

To find happiness in everything and to search for happiness in even tiniest of places.
