Guilt
Guilt
Profound guilt,
Indescribable, unbearable,
Has swallowed humanity.
In other words,
Guilt rules human minds.
The sole difference is,
One is guilty of something,
Another is guilty of nothing.
And at the end of the day,
It's guilt that wins.
From mind to mind,
Guilt converts its form,
Just like a wise chameleon.
Sometimes hidden,
At times, clearly expressible.
To be perfect or imperfect,
To be mighty or feeble,
To be prosperous or needy,
To be loyal or fickle,
Reasons to be guilty are sundry.
And gradually,
Life once truly savored,
Seems to be a dread boneyard.
Men greet men,
With grins washed out by guilt.
