Flood Boils Our Blood
Flood Boils Our Blood
Water water everywhere, not a drop to drink.
Infrastructure, has let it sink?
Malls, theaters, its parks are many,
But now, people are in agony.
Making a blame game, calling it a mutiny,
Some would simply name it, destiny.
Creating a scene of political warfare;
The treatment of fate is quite unfair.
Deprived of all the possessions and wealth,
A massive question mark on health?
Oh, thou city! Don't dig yourself a grave.
People yelled we are bold and brave.
Young blood pouring love and care,
Stories of unsung heroes to share.
Helping hands and praying lips, may it rise!
Chennai! World looks at it with surprise.
(I dedicate this poem to Chennai and its people who suffered during the 2015 Chennai floods.Now Chennai is back with the bang and living strong !!)
