Farewell

Farewell

In the tune of lullaby, filling the air around,

Those dreamy eyes rolled back, like a spool wound

A damsel in pink, from clutch to toe

In her eyes and skin, the radiant glow

That makes you peek then and now,

Whispering to yourself a silent Wow!

Boggled by confusion from tasks a dozen

Mind and thoughts, a bit frozen

From closed shops to dented bumpers,

That rainy night, in mind still whimpers.

The cuppa tea at that faraway place,

This time with a scare, on that familiar face.

Stuttering through lines, I spoke my heart

In pain and grief, simply falling apart

Under the tower from last night

She bent and peeped, twice as bright

Colors and hair locks, that roam so free,

Another 'spot-on' day, I live to see.

Savoring waves, that grew tall and straight,

Till it was lights out, after all that wait

A short farewell, a void in those smiles

Filling it up, as went by the miles.

To the soul that knows, men will be men

With a head that bows I say, Amen!
