Double Goals!

When I was a little kid, I was fond of football.

My parents insisted that it was not all.

Running around, I used to practice daily,

But my parents thought it was a big folly.

I scored my first goal within a minute,

All they said was I won't always win it.

I learned to be a great goal-key,

Yet they never ever let out a shout in glee.

Football wasn't a game, for me it was a passion!

They felt it was just another latest fashion.

I scored well and defended too,

Yet as a career, they never let me pursue.

Disheartened, I bowed down to them,

I did my MBA and joined IBM.

Though I got busy in shares and more,

I never did forget to check the score.

Every weekend I would plan to practice,

Yet would end up stuck in business trips.

Slowly and steadily, I felt suffocated,

Dreaded everybody, everything I hated!

Things in life were going downhill so fast,

I knew if I didn't change, I wouldn't last!

That's when I realized what I needed.

It was my soul that needed to be fed.

The very next day I rushed back to the ground,

And felt myself again being found!

As my feet rushed through the green grass,

It felt as refreshing as a chilled beer glass!

I know my parents always meant good,

They really did whatever they could.

What they didn't know was I could do both,

Manage my meetings and handle the coach.

Today I am at the top of the game,

And also the CEO at my new workplace.

My passion did what nothing else could,

The balancing art, I finally understood.

I was glad I found my way back there,

Where my passion had always lain.

Trust me guys, you can do it too!

Don't give up! you do have it in you!

Dreams need not be just related to work,

It can be anything that brings you out of the dark.

Stay focused and work your way to the top,

Never let go, because one day you'll surely rock!
