Can I Ever Be You, Meera.......
Can I Ever Be You, Meera.......
Your anachronistic love for Krishna was an anticipatory radical democracy,
You conferred courage to the ardent devotees to shed their shadowy realms
And enrobe the version of defiant love to take the side of a spiritual marital bliss.
Your conspicuous message of freedom, love and devotion
Is an ardent historicity for pursuers to propel along their hearts' lines, despite all persecutions ascribed.
Can I ever be like you Meera, and claim undauntedly to be the yogini of yogi Krishna?
You are phenomenally impassioned by your deep longing and ecstasy of union with your beloved Lord.
How unflinchingly you did shed your rhetoric of queen to adopt the pious adornments of a stoic soul.
It is hard to be flagrant like you, in devotion and love, devoutly weaving orphean notes,
Raising melodious storm by the rhythm of your anklets and monochord in hand.
Unflinchingly you answered the clarion call of your heart for your eternal companion,
Whom you claimed to be your spiritual husband.
Emancipating yourself from the bridles of communal rigidity, you sang in rapturous boldness,
"The garland I shall string with my breath will only chant the name of my beloved."
You proclaimed that your life barring Krishna will be like a fish hurled on an arid shore
And if he derelicts you at any detour of your life you shall renounce it that instant.
Can I ever be like you Meera, be an ultimate image of intrepidity
To emerge in conviction for the urgency of my soul,
With a language of love soaked in tender and dulcet words that flawlessly depicts my range of emotions
Between mortal souls or between human and divine.
My venerable Meera, I love and worship you For you stood unruffled in the face of accusations of immoral characters
And did not stoop to declare that Krishna is your immortal love and soulmate.
I pray to have a pinch of your spunk......
