Boredom

Boredom

This poem won't be anything deep,

I'll just try to keep it to the beat,

Because I'm bored and have nothing else to do,

And since you are reading this, so are you.

Okay so far this really stinks,

But I'm tired of trying to think,

Of something fun and cool and new,

So I'll just settle for amusing you.

I kind of lied in paragraph one,

I have a lot to do before the day is done,

I have laundry to do and projects to make,

But I'm just going to procrastinate.

I'm not sure what to say next,

But I'm starting to feel a little stressed.

The weight of my work is suddenly making itself known,

All because I got a text on my phone.

The text was from the most organized girl in my form,

Saying, "It's too much! Please help! I'll never get this done."

If that is coming from this girl-who-shall-not-be-named,

What will happen to me? A girl with just below-average brains.

Are you still reading this?

Well that’s just sad.

Almost as sad as me continuing this poem,

I admit its pretty bad.

Whatever, as I said before,

I'm just writing this to get out of my chores

So just to keep the rhythm fresh,

Let me tell you about my pet dinosaur Rex.

I'm just kidding,

As I'm sure you could tell,

And for continuing this terrible poem,

I'm definitely going to hell.

How many of you English students noticed,

That in the paragraph you just read,

I very subtly changed the rhyme scheme,

Hah! I know you went back to check.

My father just got home,

And informed me he's going to Bangalore.

That’s in India, for those who don't know,

It’s a country of magic, snakes, and more.

I really should get back to work,

Before my parents go berserk,

So I'll end this torture, and say goodbye,

And maybe pick this up some other time.
