Betrayed Love

I have known you for years now

I have stayed beside you in every thick and thin,

Laughed together for decades

And today I find who you are! 

You are a betrayer and a pretender,

Who never felt anything except hatred 

During my pains.

You are the one who was always envious of my smiles.

Uh!!! What a constant fear kept haunting you, 

That one day I would kiss infinity 

And be appraised by all.

You are the one who cleverly drifted me to tears ,

And never stood by when I felt 

 banished by this world.

With a fake smile you brought me closer 

Only thinking that you would 

Suppress me and cut my wings,

Taking away all the jewels

Which was gifted only to the women of the world,

By the eternal souls.

Those precious jewels which no goldsmith ever dared to make,

No businessman ever talked of ,

And the richest person on Earth could ever buy it.

 

Foolishly trapped,

I could do nothing but

Surrendered myself to you

Allowing you to do whatever you wanted 

Never being sceptical of your nature, 

Jealous of your success 

Or selfish in thoughts.

I had no sorrows except one ,

You never recognized me 

In all those years 

We spent together.

And so did I realize 

What love can really do to its victims, 

That love is the sweetest but strongest ,

That love is the deadliest weapon

To shatter someone into pieces.
