Being A Girl
Being A Girl

My dreams are trampled upon,
My dreams are laughed off,
My choices are ignored,
My opinions are suppressed,
I am not allowed to go late at night,
Cause our character is judged by the hands of the clock.
I am not allowed to wear short dress,
Cause again my short dress determines my character.
In this country of great respect, religion and culture,
Where female deities are worshiped with great love and respect,
People choose to judge girls based on their d
ress and color.
People feel alright to say sexiest joke.
But a humorous remark on a politician lands them in to a jail.
When a girl drives a car,
"Arre! you are a girl and you can drive so well", they say.
You don't know what I am capable of,
Don't limit my capabilities,
Don't overlook at me, you can't see me through;
I seem to be delicate yet i am powerful.
I am your mother, your sister.......your aunt, your neighbor,
I am a girl.
And a woman.....
