An Ode To The Freedom Of Roads
An Ode To The Freedom Of Roads
O, freedom of roads
I owe a lot to you, sultry breeze
Thank you for this afternoon
But before all, I bow reverently before the mighty God
Whose form although invisible toured me through the foreign yards
O, freedom of roads
It was such a sunny afternoon
My sun-burnt brow glowed galore
I loved my cheeks that smiled secrete innumerable miles
‘Neath the sweaty blue mask of this happy child
Yes, I smiled my heart and eyes and life
After many months a whole
Bought jamuns and fruits and chocolates and pens and a notebook
I never dreamt I would talk like a fool ambling across pavements and footpaths
Or meet the best friend of mine whom I had so missed since the bell bade byes
But she who bought me chilled treat surprisingly
Said she didn’t like them to be hoary clouds or chocolate brown
But I wearing this long white skirt engirt with yellow stripes
I am proud that I steered my destiny to stop
Oh sorry it was with the great help of God
So I shan’t be proud, it’s wrong
That made my solitary walks a pleasance
But I am afraid, this too shall cripple someday into purgatory
There lie back in some corner among the unsurpassable gleaming treasures of the past
