A Salute To Our Soldiers
A Salute To Our Soldiers
I don't know how to be patriotic
But I'm trying to be empathetic
Towards those fighting to save our lives
The National Anthem on the Independence Day
Rendered me literally overwhelmed
And poked my conscience
How often do you remember the Martyrs?
Their families' hearts grow feeble
Though the members pretend to be valorous
The pongos are worth lionizing
Indeed, for the sacrifices galore
I've shed tears for the celebs in movies
I went out of the way for my own needs
So far I never knew the glory of altruism
Till I saw the soldiers indulged in a ceaseless war
Epochs and eras have come and gone
Even some heroes and villains are long forgotten
Yet the humans surviving
While protecting the country's boundaries
Are impressionable reminiscences
Encouraging the souls of the citizens
To feel proud of thy nation
At least for the sake of ones serving in the army, for thee too.
