A Promise To Mother Earth

A Promise To Mother Earth

Mother Earth, our planet dear,

A precious jewel, without any peer,

With mountains, oceans and forests green,

Her beauty is a sight to be seen.

Her bounty, every year we reap,

In her womb, our crops do sleep,

Her rivers cascading, fresh and clear,

Bringing life to everything near.

The sun, moon and stars she nurtures,

With seasons, she shares her treasures,

Our homes, meadows and the wild,

She provides for all like a kind child.

But alas, with our own desire,

We have set her ablaze, in a raging fire,

Polluting her with smoke and waste,

Ignoring her cries, in our haste.

We need to wake up, and take a stand,

Restore her beauty and our land,

Protect her and treat her with care,

To save our planet for the coming years to spare.

Oh Mother Earth, our planet dear,

Even though we have caused you fear,

We promise to keep you safe and sound,

And cherish you, eternally bound.
