A June Evening
A June Evening

June evenings comprise of starlight and the silvery moon,
Sun sinks down in the horizon,
As the fading bright daylight makes way for the night,
To soothe souls.
The first chirp of crickets,
The first buzz of mosquitoes
And the first star
In the springtime night sky.
With gentle breeze
And the shadows of the trees
Dancing upon our mango fences,
Flickering like candlelight,
Creating a new picture from moment to moment.
And amid the perfume of the jasmines,
From neigbouring gardens come the music of laughter mixed with sheer innocence,
Unaware how cold nights could get
Despite the daytime warmth!
