Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Angelica. She lived in the Alps mountains. Near her cottage, there was a windmill and an old tree. She lived with her old blind grandmother and her father. Once her father left home to the town to earn money, and never returned. Her only friends were 2 mice and a bird. Because she lived on a mountain, she was the only girl there.

One night there was a terrible storm, which blew away everything. In the storm, her grandmother died. She escaped with her friends. It was very dark and she couldn’t see anything, but she could see a small light. She ran towards it and understood that it was a house. She rang the bell and a fat lady opened the door. She asked “Who are you?” with a disgusting look. The girl said “I am a poor girl I live on that mountain”. “What is your name?” asked the lady. The girl replied “Angelica”. “Ok” said the lady, and let her in.

“Children! We have a new maid, give her some leftover”. The girl was surprised because she was never treated like that. Then they told her “You sleep near the fireplace”. She sadly said “Ok”. The next day they ordered her to clean the house.

Many days passed by. One fine day the prince was passing by. He heard the children saying “Sister, who would you marry?” “I will marry the chef, to eat a lot of bread everyday”. The other sister replied “I would like to marry the treasurer, so I would be very rich”. “Hey, You! Who would you marry?” She hesitantly replied “Me?” “Yes, You!” “I would like to marry a kind man, rich or poor”. “ha ha ha” they laughed. The prince quickly drew away.

The next day the prince came in disguise, the woman and her children treated him cruelly. But the girl gave him the only food she had. Then the prince came in his true form and punished them and married the girl and they lived happily ever after.
