After having traveled to college by bus for a year, I had finally bought a sports bike. First day of the session and a brand new bike. Things couldn't have been more exciting. 'Today, I'll reach on time.' I thought, more charged than ever, as there was no waiting for a bus anymore.

On my way to college, I caught a lot of people fixedly eagle-eyeing at the bike, after all, it was the latest Moto GP graphics edition.

I had covered more than half the distance and was fifteen minutes early that's when my eye caught the attention of the scooter in front of me. On the pillion seat was a kid wearing school uniform. Looking backward, he smiled cheerfully as his eyes fell upon me. "Kids love sports bike!" I murmured to myself.

I had to reach college on time or the professor would make me stand outside the class. Speeding the bike, I overtook the scooter with a vroom. While passing by it, I picked up on how the expressions of the kid transformed. The smile that he had on his face was dwindling away. I slowed down and stayed behind them, up till our ways parted us away.

When I reached college the class had already started. I knew I was late, withal I entered the class.

"Oh, here comes Mr. Latecomer. What's the stupid reason this time?" The professor bawled?

"Nothing Ma'am," I said. And, as expected I was expelled out for the rest of the period.

While fulfilling my punishment, I pondered over that incident again, I had been in that kid's place, I knew why I slowed down and I was versed of exactly what was going on his mind or rather his fantasy world where I was the bad guy and his father, the hero, who was supposed to defeat me in that imaginary race.

He wanted his superhero to win, and I had no right to take it away from him. And, all the time that I stood there thinking about the incident with a smile plastered on my face.
