The Voyage
The Voyage
With makeup on face and flowers in hand,
I waited for the bus on the stand.
Little did I know what was on my way,
And its impact on me will forever stay.
A six year old was my partner in voyage
An innocence shown on her visage.
We talked about all the things,
From Williams to Napoleons to many other Kings.
She spoke a lot but her eyes didn't move,
For she continuously stared at my flowers,
With so much willingness and enthusiasm,
That her eyes started to shine like stars.
"I'm going to meet my mom!" she said,
With a lot of affection in her head.
So I gave her the flowers and told her to,
Give it to her mother and say, “I love you!”
She nodded and went into the cemetery,
Her vision had now become blurry.
She sat down, gave flowers to her mom and cried,
And said, "I love you even though you have... died..."
