The Old Tree
The Old Tree
The falling leaves
Of that old tree,
Yellow in hue,
Brittle and free,
Escaping the cling
With a satisfactory plea.
Falling on ground
Worthless and obscene.
Oh! the poor branches
Sink in greed,
To catch the little
Carefree yellow leaves.
