There are many pilgrimage sites in India where yogis go to meditate in solitude, as described in the Bhagavad Gita. Traditionally, yoga cannot be done in any public place; But as far as kirtan-mantra-yoga, or Hare Krishna mantra kirtan Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rm, Ram Ram, Hare Hare ke yoga is concerned, the more people involved in it, the better. About five hundred years ago when Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu used to perform kirtan in India, he arranged for sixteen persons in each group to lead the kirtan, and thousands of people sang along with them. Engaging in kirtan, or collective chanting of God's name and glory, is possible in this age and is also extremely simple; But as far as meditation-yoga method is concerned, it is very difficult. In the Bhagavad-Gita it is specifically stated that one should go to some secluded and holy place to practice Dhyana-yoga. In other words, it is necessary to leave the house. A deserted place in this era of population explos Pana is not always possible, but it is not necessary in bhakti-yoga.

There are nine methods in Bhakti-yoga method: listening, kirtan, remembrance,

Padsevana, Archana, Vandan, Dasya, Sakhya and Atmanivedan. Of these, Shravan Kirtan is considered the most important. In a public kirtan, one person chants Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare, Hare Ram Hare Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare while the rest of the group listens, and at the end of the mantra everyone in the group repeats it. Thus Shravan and Kirtan are exchanged. This can be done very easily in your own home in a small group of friends or in a large public place with many people. One may try to practice Dhyana-yoga while living in society or in a big city, but he should understand that this is self-conceived, not the method proposed by the Bhagavad Gita.

The whole method of yoga is to purify oneself. And what is that purity? Purity comes by itself upon knowing one's true identity. "मेन सुद्ध आत्म है में है शात्र है है" अच्चाही है प्रशुत्य है Because of physical contact we perceive ourselves as matter, and we think, "I am this body." But in order to do real yoga, one should consider one's physical condition as different from substance. The purpose of staying in solitude and doing meditation-yoga is the attainment of this knowledge.

It is not possible to access this knowledge by adopting an inappropriate method. In any case, this is the view of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu:

Harernaam Harernaam Harernamaiva Kevalam. Kalou Nastyev Nastyev Nastyev Gatiranyatha.
