Unity In Diversity
Bappanadu's Unique Culture
India is a country bound with variety of languages and cultures. It is a home to approx 700 different religions and 398 languages. Hence, we Indians are proud to be sons and daughters of this motherland.
In this write up I'm here to depict about Unity in Diversity....
Bappanadu Durgaparameshwari temple located in Mangaluru(Manglore) is 800 years old temple built by a Muslim merchant named Bappa was crossing the river Shambhavi witnessed a strange blood stained river and his boat stops in between. The frightened merchant looks around and to his surprise he hears a divine voice and asks him to seek the help of Mulki Swanstha (who was the king of Mulki) and build a temple for goddess. Hence, name of the village is called Bappanadu and the temple is famous as Bappanadu Durga Parameshwari.
During every fair and festival the first offering are always given to Bappa's family members. Many Muslims do take part in the festival and seek blessings from the goddess.
Therefore, there are many instances that prove that despite the partition and number of conflicts, Indians have never lost their unity. And also maintain same level of respect and love among religions and cultures.
Thank you
