Truth Prevails

This story is about a boy Harish who always spoke the truth. He studies in class 9 and is a brilliant student. He always comes to the merit list of his class. He also participates in various extra-curricular activities. The most recent was a writing competition named #pen and ink, in which he won the second prize.

Now the story goes like this. Harish had a classmate named Girish. Girish was a good student and a good sportsperson. But he was also a vivid cinema lover. He has the habit of watching the first-day first show of all films of Salman Khan and Hrithik Roshan.

Now it so happened that Hrithik Roshan's film War was released on this week's Friday and the exams were from Monday. As expected Girish bought two tickets one for himself and another for Suresh, another friend who often accompanied him on such shows. However, Suresh refused to go this time citing personal reasons.

Girish thought to ask Harish this time. Initially Harish refused but finally agreed after much persuasion. They both decided to bunk school and went to Inox multiplex for the film. It was a day show and they both went back to their homes after the film. Both pretended to return from school.

As luck would have it, Harish's elder brother who was in college was also watching the film. He saw Harish but did not say anything then. At home, while having lunch, he asked how his classes were going on in school and were there any revision for the exams. Harish replied in the affirmative. Now Harish's brother took out his phone and showed the pictures which he had taken of Harish and Girish at the multiplex.

Now Harish felt very much ashamed and humiliated. He was chided by both his parents and elder brother for lying and bunking his school. He promised to never do such a thing again. And to always speak the truth. He could know now that "Satyameva Jayate" i.e. truth always prevails. How much one may try but at the end of the day truth always comes out.
