Almost all of us are aware of the classic story, "The Selfish Giant". Lets read on to find out what happens in the second part of the story...

Every afternoon, after school many children came to the giant's garden, named Anthos, and played there for long. Anthos also used to play with the children.

The children were very happy about playing there. When they came to the garden, tired and hungry. They forgot all their tiredness.

After some days Anthos decided to visit his old friend, Cornish Orge, for seven years. Now, there was no one to play with the children. They missed Anthos. The children played happily for some days. But, their happiness didn't last long.

Another giant, named Echion, came to the castle and started living there. He was a selfish giant too. When he saw the children playing in the garden, he threw the children out of the garden and did not let them enter. He also built a high wall around it and made sure that nobody entered. The children were upset. Now they had no one to play.

Almost six months passed by, but Echion did not allow them to enter the garden. After some days, the children saw Anthos coming with his heavy footsteps. Echion didn't expect him to return so soon. So, he was relaxed. After some time, Echion heard a loud and scary voice from outside. He saw Anthos coming towards the castle. On seeing Anthos, he looked as white as a ghost. The children told Anthos that there is another giant, named Echion, is living in the castle. Anthos was not angry when he knew that an outsider is living in his castle. But he hit the ceiling when he heard that he did not allow the children to play in the garden.

Anthos knocked down the high wall and entered the castle. Furiously, he walked with the children towards the castle. On seeing Anthos, Echion stepped out of the castle and looked pale. Anthos asked Echion, "Why didn't you let the children play in the garden?" There was no reply. Anthos thought that they should fight tooth and nail. But Echion sat on his knees and was very sorry for his rude behavior towards the children.

God gifted Anthos a big heart, that was the reason he forgave Echion easily. After some days, Echion returned to his own castle. Again, every afternoon, the children played in Anthos's garden.
