The Money Plant

Once upon a time, there was a girl named Preeti. She lived with her parents in a small village in Manipur. Her father was a woodcutter. One day, when her father was going to cut the trees she forced her father to take her with him. Preeti‘s mother gave some food to them and then they started the journey.

 

In some time they reached the jungle. Preeti saw a small plant and asked her father, the name of the plant Her father replied,” It is a money plant. Then she questioned her father,” The plant must be giving money if its name is money plant “. Her father replied,” No, my dear child, it is just named money plant. “

 

Then she went near the plant and prayed, “ If your name is money plant please give us money.” Suddenly a gold coin appeared on one leaf of the plant. She was very surprised and called her father. Her father denied the situation. Then she again prayed the same. Again one more gold coin appeared on the other leaf. Her father was first scared then jubilant.

 

He then told his daughter that not to take the money because the money was not the fruit of their hard work and so they moved ahead then a beautiful fairy appeared and told them that it was the fruit of their hard work and the fairy sprinkled a bunch of gold coins on them. Both of them were surprised to see the scene. They told the fairy that for them money is not everything. Then Preeti’s father told the fairy to give them and their family her blessing.

 

The fairy gave them the blessings of being happy forever and in this way, Preeti and her family lived happily ever

 

Moral of the story: Never be Greedy, and always be satisfied with what you have.
