Estonian born Leonid Alekseyevich Kulik was once a teacher in Minerology who worked at the Mineralogical Museum in St. Petersburg (later renamed Leningrad), Russia during 1920s.
Upon learning that he was studying in depth "the acquisition and study of meteorites" the Russian Government assigned the task of locating and examining meteorites that had fallen within the Soviet Union.
