'The Dreaded High School Life'

Kanishka was going for a party. Not any party but the first party of the year before school reopens. She wanted to look her best. She wore the best dress she had in her closet. Unlike the other Kids, Kanishka was not at all popular. She was funny and friendly but no one seemed to know much about her as she was shy and timid. She hated school like every 16-year old. She didn't have many friends so this was her chance to get famous. So all glammed up she was about to head out the door but her mom stopped her and asked her where she was going. Kanishka said " I'm going for a party to Sam's house." Her mother exclaimed " Party on a school night?! This year is just off to a bad start!" Ignoring her mother's remark she ran out the door. She was not close to her mother as she was strict and always stopped her from doing anything. She tried to forget about her mother and think about how awesome the party will be.

The party was held at the house of the most popular kid- Sam. He was in the football team so everyone knew him. He was unlike other kids Kanishka thought "He was popular yet kind." He was in Kanishka's English class and he was the one who invited Kanishka to the party.

When Kanishka entered Sam's house she was filled with nervousness. She felt like all eyes in the room was at her but in reality no one seemed to notice her. When Sam saw her, he grinned from ear to ear. He exclaimed "You came! I didn't expect you to come!" Sam took Kanishka to the dining room where all his popular friends were sitting. He introduced her to his friends and surprisingly they greeted her warmly. She didn't expect any of this happening. She was filled with joy! She enjoyed the night to its fullest and decided to head home at around midnight. The next morning when she woke up she was pumped with excitement! It was the first day of her high school. After the party she went to last night, she was sure that this year would be a blast! When she entered her school she saw some people looking at her and laughing. She was confused but ignored them. After she went a little ahead she saw that Sam and his friends were all laughing at her. Embarrassed she ran to the washroom. She checked her phone and saw that Sam started a rumor saying that "Kanishka was apparently arrested a year back for drinking and driving. So she switched schools to get away with her bad past but her past came back to her." When she read that she burst into tears. She then realized that high school can never be a fun place. It's just a dreaded place where everyone tries to fit in and fails. And her dreaded journey just began.
