The Climb of My Life

Me and my friends were playing some games on a Sunday, when we heard people shouting outside. We played rock-paper-scissors to decide who was going out to check it out. Sadly, I lost.

Outside I saw people yelling at a tree and poking it with a stick. There was a huge crowd of around 30-40 people. I asked someone what was all this about, and they said, "s-sn-snake!!!" This person was clearly trembling. I observed the scene for a while ,but then decided to have fun. My adventurous spirit took over my body and before I knew it, my left hand gripped the tree trunk. I steadily ascended the tree, finding footholes here and there and branches for handholds.

Meanwhile, the crowd at the bottom was shouting and pleading me to get down. I ignored them and reached the top.

I instantly saw the snake. It was a tiny, slimy creature. It hissed at me, but did not seem to have the power to bite. Thankfully it did not secrete venom from it's mouth. I grabbed the poor, scared animal and descended. The crowd was relieved that I was safe, but many people yelled at me for risking my life.

Within an hour, Animal Control arrived and took the snake away. Everyone went home after that and so did I. Soon noticed that my friends were engrossed in having fun. I smiled to myself and went about telling them what they missed.
