Street Beggar

It was a fine evening, fresh air filled my lungs and felt refreshed and exhilarated.

On my way, I saw a sluggish poor little boy begging near a pungent area. He was Blessed with a swarthy complexion and had beautiful almond eyes, but that sweet boy was pleading to earn money. I felt atrocious for him and thought he should give him money. When I went near to him, first I asked him his name, he replied in a very low voice said “Shamu”.

I gave him some money and prayed for him, later Shamu gave all his earning earned in a day to his father. His father was not jovial at all with him. His father told him that “Is this the money you earn in a day’’! Shamu’s father shouted him in a loud voice. Shamu felt very bad and sat in one corner quietly. Then my mother cried out my name we went to the restaurant.

I asked my father that “can we take a parcel for that boy at the signal’?.My father said, “of course”. I was on cloud nine to hear that. So again while returning back home, at streets Shamu was still sitting miserably in that corner. I felt gloomy and again I went near to him. I asked him “what problems are you facing”?.He said in a low voice.”My mother is not feeling well and we don’t have money to buy medicines”.Their home was near to our house so I said my parents that “I will come afterward” By listening to Shamu’s tale of woe I felt very guilty and rushed towards my home and broke my favorite piggy bank.

In that, there was some healthy money in my piggy. I kept the money in my pocket and hurried to him. Opposite his house, there was a chemist shop. From that shop, I bought medicine to heal his mother's fever. I gave the medicine to Shamu and told him to tell your mom to take this medicine. After a few days, I went to meet him and asked that “how is your mother's health now”? He said “better than that day”. Shamu was crying and told me “thank you so much, what should I do for you”? I said “I don’t want anything my friend,I want to tell you a poem based on us. It is not so good but still listens to it, maybe you will like it.

“WE ARE BEST FRIENDS

LIKE FRIENDSHIP BANDS

NOBODY CAN BREAK OUR FRIENDSHIP

AND WE’LL SUPPORT EACH OTHER IN HARDSHIP”

Shamu said, “it was amazing”. I liked it and once again thank you so much my best friend”. I waved my hand with great happiness and wishing a better life to Shamu.

Later on, My Birthday when I shared this story with all Family and Friends on my birthday, my audience stood up and applauded proudly & loudly. This moment was the most memorable for me.
