Someone Who Couldn't Love Me Back

TO THE BOY WHO COULDN'T LOVE ME BACK,

You led me onto this roller coaster ride that I have never thought I had had the courage to hop on.

You promised that you would be there with me through all the twists and turns. With you beside me, I could conquer the world and so the roller coaster did not even stand a chance.

But up in the sky when it went upside down, you left me. You vaporized in the air.

They say that this will pass, too.

If only this helplessness could run away from me as fast as you did, as far away as you did.

You should not have to settle for something you do not want, especially in matters of the heart. But you could have told me. Sooner. It could have helped me to be a little less broken, a little less helpless.

You did what you did when you did and I forgive you. But I cannot forget that you bolted when we were high up in the sky. You left me alone for the rest of the ride.

Lucky for me you helped me realize that I didn't want anyone besides me. I could conquer the w00orld all by myself, starting with that roller coaster.
