Akbar being such a significant and capable king . He announced his courtier as the nine gems of the world. For Akbar, Birbal was his important adviser.

Once A robbery of few jewels from the crown of the king took place at the royal palace. Akbar was full of fury. Akbar told his council of ministers to find a way to catch the culprit of this robbery . After thinking about the case Birbal got an idea


He called all the servants working in the palace because he knew that no one else could come in the palace with such a tight security. Birbal commanded to give all a 10 meter twig.

He told that these are the magical twigs, who so ever have stolen the jewels his twig will get 2meter longer than others. It was the servant who had stolen the jewels had already cut 2meter his stick thinking that it would grow again.


Next morning Birbal called all the servants back with the magical twig to see whose stick is the longest as he told that the thief's stick would be longer, they saw that the servant who had cut the stick his stick was the smallest. Birbal told, "king Akbar he is the one who has at stollen the diamonds."

The servant told but whose stick would be longer is the culprit. Birbal told that the stick was not magical but I knew in fear of getting caught the culprit would cut off his stick 2 meters. This is what is so shall you reap so shall you pay.
