Shhh...

I sell cakes. I charge people hundreds for wedding cakes… But you know what? Every cake is made using a ready cake mix that I buy from the supermarket. I am not good at baking. Every time I’ve ever tried to make a cake from scratch, I couldn't. Baking for me is like a BIG DEAL! My friends call me "The Chocolate Cake Boy". This is just not true.

People compliment my cakes all the time telling me how delicious they are... Telling me it’s so much better than the ready-to-eat cakes... Telling me they could never bake a cake so delicious. Well, guess what? They too can make a cake just as delicious. All they need is a ready cake mix & then all they need to add is oil, eggs, and water. In my defense, I love cake decorating. I make all of the frostings and fondant from scratch. I just hate baking cakes!! I base my prices mostly on the decoration of the cakes and not on the cake itself so this makes sense. Still… No one knows about this. Even my best friends think that I bake the cakes myself. I have been doing this for YEARS. 

If anyone knew the truth, my business and reputation would have gone for a toss! I keep telling myself that I have to learn how to bake cakes without the ready mixes, but I never do it. 

Will I ever learn how to bake a cake? Only God knows!
